Erich Römer

Erich Römer ( born June 2, 1894 in Berlin, † 26 March 1987 ) was a German ice hockey player and coach who has played his entire career for the Berlin Ice Club and has participated in a variety of tournaments with the German national team.

Career

Erich Romans played his entire career as a hockey player with the Berlin Ice Club, with whom he won a total of eight German championship 1928-1937. In addition, he oversaw the team of the club as a coach.

From 1924 he also played for the German national team and served as captain of the outer, a kind of player-coach. In 1928 he participated with the national team at the Olympic Winter Games and resigned from this in the first round. Two years later, at the European Championships in 1930, he won the gold medal.

At the Olympic Winter Games 1932, the German team won the bronze medal. Romans served until 1934 as outside national team captain and graduated in that time 47 states games in which he scored 6 goals.

In 1988, he was inducted into the German Hockey Hall of Fame.
