Erik Janiš

Erik Janiš ( born September 23, 1987 in Olomouc) is a Czech racing driver. His brother Jaroslav is also a racing driver.

Janiš began his motorsport career in 1994 in karting, where he was active until 2005. Among other things, he won the 2005 ICC European Championship. After he had taken part in the German Formula BMW in 2003, he moved in 2006 in touring car racing. He was sixth in the Czech Škoda Octavia Cup and also took part in some races part of the German Seat Leon Supercopa. 2007 Janiš eventually won the championship of the Czech Škoda Octavia Cup. In addition, he returned to Formula racing and took part in several races of the International Formula Master and the A1GP series.

2008 Janiš moved to the Formula 3 Euro Series with the German team Mücke Motorsport. While his team-mate Christian Vietoris and Mika Mäki was able to win the race, he had to settle for the best results with seventh places. At the end of the season, he finished 21st overall, but was the best rookie. 2009 Janiš returned back into the international Formula Master. As a teammate of Alexander Rossi, he started for ISR Racing. With three third places, he finished the season in sixth place overall. In addition, he managed to score points in every race.
