Erkki Pakkanen

Erkki Olavi Pakkanen ( born April 19, 1930 in Elimäki; † 23 April 1973 in Kouvola ) was a Finnish amateur boxer (lightweight ). He was bronze medalist at the 1952 Summer Olympics in Helsinki.

Towards the later Olympic champion Aureliano Bolognesi from Italy had Pakkanen in the semifinals to suffer a 0-3 defeat. In the end he won behind Bolognesi, Aleksy Antkiewicz from Poland and together with Fiat Gheorghe from Romania the bronze medal.

In 1952 he had won the third place also in the Finnish championship boxing matches.
