Ernest Mangnall

James Ernest Mangnall (* 1866 in Bolton, † January 13, 1932 ) was an English football coach.

Career

His coaching career began at FC Burnley Mangnall 1899. 1903 he became coach of the 1902 resulting from Newton Heath new club Manchester United. 1908 won Mangnall with United their first championship in club history. He also won in 1909 with the Red Devils the FA Cup. In 1911 he was again with his team champions. The next year he left his club and went to local rivals Manchester City. In the twelve years when he was with Manchester City, he won a single title.
