Ernesto FarÃas
Ernesto Antonio Farías (born 29 May 1980 Trenque Lauquen, Argentina) is an Argentine football player.
Club career
The striker began his professional career in 1998 at the Argentine Club Estudiantes de La Plata, from the youth team, he had also come. In spite of well-known competitors such as Luciano Galletti or Bernardo Romeo, Ernesto Farías could the young prevail from the start, claiming a place as a regular player. Estudiantes played at this time, always in the middle of the Argentine Primera División secured. But Farías and Mariano Pavone, his former strike partner made it again and again with numerous gates on to draw attention to themselves. In the Apertura 2003/ 04, the striker with 12 goals was then leading scorer. The team was playing, among others also the later Bayern player José Ernesto Sosa. In 2004 he moved to Palermo in Italy, which had previously been promoted to the first Italian league. Palermo should experience one of the most successful years in the club's history, but Ernesto Farías was only slightly contribute to this success. Even in January 2005 Farías therefore returned back to his native Argentina. On the CA River Plate he should replace the migrated to Moscow striker Fernando Cavenaghi as - and this was achieved. Ernesto Farías proved as an equal replacement and shot back goals as his time at Estudiantes. In the Clausura season 2005/ 06 he missed the new title for the top scorers just barely. Only Gonzalo Vargas was able to achieve a hit as Farías more. Due to the continued good performance in his native European clubs were aware of the striker again. In July 2007, the Argentine has signed a four year contract with the Portuguese club FC Porto, who bought him for four million euro transfer fee. After some tough start Farías came in the second half of the 2007/08 season then often used and played on the side of Lisandro López. In his first season he was with his new team champion. With Hulk of FC Porto committed while another striker, but Farías reached with 10 goals in 20 games in the 2008 /09 season a good rate. At the end of Porto defended his championship title and also won the National Cup and the Super Cup. In his last season with the Portuguese striker won again the two national trophies with his team. In the storm, however, his colleague Falcao was most effective and made with only 25 league goals in 28 matches all other striker of FC Porto in the shade.
In July 2010, Ernesto Farías moved to Brazil Cruzeiro Belo Horizonte.
National
Farías took in 1997 with the Argentine U- 17 team at the U -17 World Cup in Egypt in part. Two years later he was part of the winning squad at the U -20 South American Championship and was also used for the subsequent Junior World Championships 1999 are used. In the Argentine national team, he has played only once in the qualification for the FIFA World Cup 2006 in Germany. In this deployment, his team lost 0-1 against Paraguay.
