Ernesto Rossi (actor)

Ernesto Rossi ( born February 28, 1827 in Livorno, † June 4, 1896 in Pescara ) was an Italian actor.

Life

Instead of a law degree, he already gave his debut at the 1845 touring theater and was taught by Gustavo Modena. In 1852 he came to the Compagnia Reale Sarda.

He toured to Milan, Turin, Paris ( Comédie- Française ), London, Vienna, Lisbon, Moscow, Prague; in Germany after Berlin and Dresden. He played among other things Adelaide Ristori with.

He had particular success with lead roles in the dramas of William Shakespeare.

He fell ill during a performance in Odessa and died a few weeks later in Italy.
