ERNI Electronics

History

ERNI is one of the world's largest manufacturer of electrical connectors in accordance with the DIN 41612 standard. At the time of the founding of the ERNI Elektroapparate- GmbH by the Swiss parent company ERNI Co. AG in 1956 was the brand's products only from relay. ERNI celebrated its 50th corporate anniversary in June 2006.

After a constant phase of growth ERNI made ​​in 1968 as the world's first manufacturer Connector according to the new DIN 41612 standard, which the world's most frequently used standard developed for industrial PCB-/Leiterplatten-Steckverbinder (PCB is an acronym for "printed circuit board ", in German, printed circuit board).

In 1980 a sales company was established in the U.S., which was later expanded by a production site. Continuous growth eventually required the centralization of all domestic production in the newly-built factory in Adelberg in 1992.

Since July 1993, the quality management system is documented by the certification according CECC / DIN ISO 9001.

In 1997, the production site Adelberg has been increased by 75 % due to capacity constraints, which corresponds to an expansion to 7,500 m². Mid-1990s, the connector series ERmet and SMC have been developed.

Mid-2012 was the inauguration of the new injection molding and hence the expansion of the site Zieglhau.

Among the products currently best-selling and most innovative among the product range INTERact. Under this product range all connector types were summarized at ERNI Electronics GmbH & Co. KG, which have a unique feature that is not found in any comparable competition connectors.
