The Academy of Dramatic Arts " Ernst Busch" Berlin (HFS ) based in the Berlin district Niederschoeneweide was founded in 1951 as the State Theatre School, Berlin with the rank of a technical school. In 1981 she was awarded the status of a university and was named after the year before late singer and actor Ernst Busch.

The roots

The university dates back to 1905, established by Max Reinhardt drama school of the Deutsches Theater in Berlin. Dictatorship and collapse

State Theatre School

The GDR Ministry of Culture was formally re- created drama school in September 1951. The university today

For the directing course and as a venue for the university uses the Berlin workers' theater. About 15 productions are staged each year.
