Ernst Gossner

Ernst Gossner ( * 1967 in Tyrol, Austria ) is an Austrian film director, screenwriter and producer best known for the film South of Pico.

Life

Gossner comes from Tyrol. After graduating Gossner worked as a laborer, a radio journalist and bike tour leader before he made ​​his debut as a theater actor.

Within seven years Gossner played in dozens of roles in Austria, Italy and Germany. He wrote plays and directed his first short film ESCAPE. The film became a Web phenomenon in the 90s and 1999 Gossner was admitted to the program director of the prestigious American Film Institute AFI Conservatory in Los Angeles. His graduation film BAR TIME was one of only five films that released the AFI once on DVD.

Movies

After completion of training at the AFI Conservatory Ernst founded his company Vent Productions in Los Angeles. His first feature film South of Pico (SOP ) was filmed in Los Angeles and had its premiere at the 2007 American Black Film Festival. The film won in one fell swoop all three nominations and became a festival success with prices in the U.S., Europe and China.

Even as a theater director Ernst Gossner has proven time and again, his latest production is the Glass Menagerie by Tennessee Williams, in late 2010 Ute Heidorn, Benjamin Ulbrich, Michaela Schreimel and Florian Hackspiel were seen at the State Theatre Innsbruck.
