Ernst Heinrich Meier

Ernst Heinrich Meier ( born May 17, 1813 in Rusbend, Schaumburg -Lippe, † March 2, 1866 in Tübingen ) was a German Orientalist and narrative researchers.

In 1841 it was a lecturer and in 1848 professor of Semitic languages ​​and literatures at Tübingen. His main works are dedicated to the study of Hebrew and Phoenician.

He was also active in the field of Swabian Lore and published several collections of legends, fairy tales and songs.

In addition, he published a biography of his benefactress, the 1846 late Princess Caroline of Schaumburg -Lippe, a collection of poems ( under the pseudonym E. Minne castle ) and various transfers, especially from Sanskrit.
