Ernst-Ludwig von Thadden

Ernst- Ludwig von Thadden ( born 1959 in Göttingen) is a professor of economics at the University of Mannheim.

Von Thadden 1978 received his high school diploma at the Max - Planck -Gymnasium Göttingen, returning home to study, among others, at the University of Heidelberg and at the London School of Economics, Mathematics and Economics. In 1991 he received his doctorate in economics at the University of Bonn in the tray, 1995, he completed his habilitation in Basel.

He is co-editor of the Journal of Financial Intermediation. Before moving to Mannheim in 2004, he was since 1995 a professor at the University of Lausanne. He focuses on microeconomics and capital market theory, and financial intermediation. In October 2012, he was rector of the University of Mannheim.

Ernst- Ludwig von Thadden is the son of Rudolf von Thadden and Wiebke and the brother of Elisabeth von Thadden.
