Ernst Michael Mangel

Ernst Michael deficiency ( * 1800 in Karl Castle (then in Hungary, now Alba Iulia in Romania); † January 13, 1887 in Athens ) was a musician, composer, Philhellene and organizer of military music in the Kingdom of Greece.

Life

His background, his youth, his musical education lie in the dark. He went to Greece in 1823, where he joined Colonel Charles Nicolas Fabvier. Colonel Fabvier, who took over the construction of the Greek army on behalf of the Government of Greece, commissioned Ernst deficiency with the establishment of a military band. Serious deficiency led here the clarinet in the Greek music. In the period 1825-1827 the music corps was trapped by the Turks in Athens. In the same year Colonel Fabvier lost the command of the Greek army in 1828 and returned back to Paris. Colonel Carl Wilhelm von Heideck took his place. After the liberation of Athens he moved, run by Ernst lack Musikkorps in the government capital Nauplion. In order to marry a Greek, Serious deficiency occurred in 1834 Greek Orthodox faith over and changed his first name to Michael. After his marriage he retired from the Greek army. King Otto of Greece called Michael back deficiency and gave him the post of military Musikinspzienten with the order Greek military marches on the basis of Greek folk music to compose or to encourage others to composers. In the period 1843-1855 Michael deficiency was also the director of the music school founded in 1843 military in Athens. In 1865, Michael defect was retired.

The music manuscripts of three triumphal marches, dedicated to King Otto of Greece, can be found in the Bavarian State Library in Munich.
