Ernst Rolf

Rolf Ernst, Ernst Ragnar Johansson native ( born January 20, 1891 in Falun, † December 25, 1932 in Stockholm) was a Swedish singer, actor and director Revue.

Life

Ernest's father was a tailor and the family lived on a small farm near the Copper Mine in Falun. As a child, Ernst met with his brother Birger, who played the piano, at events of Good Templar on. In 1906 he accepted a job at the mailing house Åhlén & Holm in Insjön. There he met the plant manager Ragnar Åkerblom who wrote smaller revues and appeared as a folk artist. Both had later temporarily as artist duo Hammarlund & Schroeder.

Baldernstrasse quit his job to put the artist name Ernst Rolf to, and toured as an actor and singer of songs through the country. Ernst Rolf had to invent the assets tunes that got stuck in the memory of the people. Some of the well-known throughout Sweden songs, like Ju mer vi är Tillsammans ... ( The longer we 're together) and Jag är ute När Gumman är min hold ( I 'm out if my love is in it ) come from revues of Ernst Rolf.

On October 12, 1910 Ernst Rolf played one of his first record. In his further career, he became one of the most productive Grammophon artist. According to a discography, which was released in 1991, Rolf had a total of 851 recordings. He also ran a music publishing house and had two short-lived record companies. In addition to the Revue demonstrations Ernst Rolf also acted in a few films. These, however, were less successful, because he needed the contact with the audience.

Ernst Rolf was married three times, most recently with the Norwegian actress Jenny " Tutta " Rolf. He died in 1932 of pneumonia after an unsuccessful attempt to drown herself. His funeral on the Norra begravningsplatsen in Stockholm was accompanied by grieving masses.
