Ernte 23

Harvest 23 (own spelling: ERNTE23 ) is a brand of cigarettes produced by the German tobacco company Reemtsma, a subsidiary of Imperial Tobacco.

History

In 1923, the harvest of the crops grown in northern Greece Oriental tobacco fell out so great that the experts of Reemtsma they recommended as a mixture basis. The tobacco was 1924 base for the new, created by Hans Domizlaff brand harvest 23, which was protected since 1931.

Unusual for its time was the colors of the harvest -23- pack. Available in red and orange of the designer Erich Etzold designed a package which is remarkably stood out from the color combinations of other brands.

After the Second World War changed with the arrival of American troops, the flavor selection of cigarette consumers. 1976 developed the Reemtsma manager an advertising campaign for the brand in combination with voice mail card for Grade II listed building, in which the buyer had the choice, where the cigarette maker should spend an amount of DM 25,000 for the monument. Trivia

In the early 1980s, as slowly emerged rethinking in relation to smoking, the name of this cigarette brand was happy as a cautionary tale transformed into " end with 23".
