Eros Riccio

Eros Riccio ( born December 1, 1977 in Lucca, Tuscany ) is an Italian long-distance chess player.

Since 2010 he bears the title of Grand Champion in correspondence chess. In correspondence chess, he is Vice - European Champion and won the Olympic bronze medal with the Italian national team. He is also a master of online correspondence chess server FICGS. He is also the author of a book about chess openings.

Chess career

Riccio won an Italian championship in the e- mail chess and three Italian championships in correspondence chess.

On the first board of the Italian national team took part in many correspondence chess tournaments. In the seventh European Championship he scored with Italy Silver and XVII. Olympics with Italy bronze.

He is particularly successful in Freestyle Chess Tournament ( Advanced Chess variant). After winning the 8th PAL / CSS Freestyle tournament he won all the tournaments this orientation, in which he participated (Welcome Freestyle Tournament, Christmas Freestyle Tournament, l IC Freestyle Masters, 1 Infinity Freestyle Tournament).

With FICGS he won the first and third Freestyle Chess Cup and especially five consecutive world championships.
