Es erhub sich ein Streit, BWV 19

It was war ( BWV 19) is a cantata by Johann Sebastian Bach from the year in 1726.

The text of the cantata is based on a poem by Christian Friedrich Henrici, which was published in his collection of edifying thoughts 1725 in Leipzig. Perhaps the text of Bach himself was fashioned.

Scoring and structure

As occupation are provided three soloists (soprano, tenor, bass) and four voices, mixed chorus, as well as instruments Oboe I and II, Oboe d' amore I and II, oboe da caccia, Tromba I, II, II, Timpani, Violin I and II, viola and continuo.
