Espido Freire

Espido Freire (actually: Laura Espido Freire, born 16 July 1974 in Bilbao) is a Spanish writer.

She grew up as the daughter of a Galician emigrants in a village near Bilbao and soon discovered her literary as well as musical talent, so she took singing lessons and very early began to paint. She studied English at the University of Deusto.

Her third novel Frozen Peaches ( Melocotones helados ) In 1999, the highest endowed literary prize in Spain, the Premio Planeta obtained.
