Essex

Essex [ ɛsɪks ] (Old English Eastseaxe = " East Saxons " ) is a county located in England, northeast of London. The capital of the county is Chelmsford. The more northerly cultural center of Colchester is home to the University of Essex, which is internationally famous for the Social and Economic Sciences.

The name comes from the Kingdom of Essex ( East Saxons; see also Middlesex, Sussex and Wessex ) back.
