The Estadio Contador José Pedro Damiani is a football stadium in the Uruguayan capital, Montevideo. It was as a home ground of Club Atlético Peñarol successful under the name of Las Acacias ( en.: The acacia ) on April 19, 1916 inaugurated. This name is still in use today. The opening game was a Clásico against city rivals Nacional and was won by Peñarol 3-1. In 1930 they built from the entrance area and the VIP stands and installed it to the first World Cup at the Estadio Pocitos. After the end of the tournament, the components came back to its original location.
