Esther Gronenborn

Esther Gronenborn ( * 1968 in Oldenburg ) is a German film director.

Even as teenagers staged Gronenborn on Super 8 and video short stories between experimental film and trash. She began in Berlin on a study of literature and philosophy, which, however, broke off again. In 1990 she began her studies at the University of Television and Film in Munich with focus on documentary film. In addition to various stays abroad (including Hong Kong ), she turned several documentaries and short films. Furthermore, it has inspired made ​​by her own band, in the music video scene in Germany a name. She became known for her feature film debut Alaska.de ( 2000).

She was a founding member in 1987 of the Stuttgart film event and artist group " wall 5 ", which has since the film festival Filmwinter organized every year.
