Eteobalea klisieckii

Eteobalea klisieckii is a butterfly (moth ) from the family of the splendor butterfly ( Cosmopterigidae ).

Features

The moths reach a wingspan of 25 millimeters. The species is very large and resembles superficially Eteobalea teucrii. The tegulae are golden pale behind. The forewings have very large Costalflecke that reach almost to the wing center. The second and third spot is almost square. On the wing inner edge are three raised, pale golden spots. The first is small, located near the wing base and inwardly of the first Costalflecks. The second is located just opposite the second Costalfleck and almost reaches this. The third is elongated and shows the inside of the third Costalflecks. A small, white edged, pale golden spot is located at the apex. The front wing undersides shining yellowish gray. The hind wings are whitish gray and light gray on the Costa loader.

The genital armature of the males has not been described.

In females, the 8th segment is short and wider than long. Posteriorly it has a V-shaped sclerotisation. The ostium is semicircular. The sterigma is sac- shaped and tapers distally. The ductus bursae is behind a very long process. There are two crescent-shaped Signa formed, one of them is very small.

Dissemination

Eteobalea klisieckii is native to Morocco.
