Ethiopian Democratic League

The Ethiopian Democratic League ( Amharic የኢትዮጵያ ዴሞክራሲያዊ ሊግ transcribed YeItyopya Démokrasiawi Lig, English Ethiopian Democratic League, abbreviation EDL) is an opposition political party in Ethiopia.

During the national elections to the Legislative Ethiopian Parliament, the parliamentary elections in Ethiopia 15 May 2005, the party was in addition to the United Ethiopian Democratic Party - Medhin Party and the Party Rainbow Ethiopia: Movement for Democracy and social justice one of the member parties within the electoral alliance the Coalition for unity and Democracy, which emerged together with a total of 109 of the 527 parliamentary seats in the people's House of Representatives as the strongest oppositional alliance. Of these 109 deputies seats, the Ethiopian Democratic League was a total of 2 seats to decide for himself, of which, in turn, each one a woman and one was awarded to a man.

The Coalition for Unity and Democracy was the end of September of 2005, to unite into a single party, the unit for democracy and justice.
