Étienne Maynon d'Invault

Étienne d' Maynon Invault (* 1721 in Paris, † March 13, 1801 in Saint- Germain -en- Laye ) was a French jurist and physiokratisch oriented financial manager in the ancien régime.

Life and work

He was the son of Vincent d' Maynon Invault (1668-1736) and his second wife Agnès de Bouvard Fourqueux, which were both married since 1712. The first marriage of his father, in 1699 with Catherine Hardouin -Mansart († 1702) concluded, remained childless.

Étienne d' Maynon Invault was in 1741 councilor of the Fourth Chamber of the Court of Paris, 4e chambre of Enquêtes du Parlement de Paris. This was followed on 4 March 1747 to 29 January 1766 working as Requetenmeister, Maîtres Legal Adviser, then Président 1753 au Grand Conseil and from August 1754 to the offices of a director in Amiens in Picardy, Director de Picardie. In 1758 he married his cousin Adélaïde the Élisabeth de Bouvard Fourqueux (* 1745). On September 22, 1768, he was appointed Contrôleur Général des Finances, this was from 1661 to 1791 the name of the Minister of Finance in France. On December 10, 1768, he took over the government minister, Ministre d' État.
