Etofenprox is a chemical compound from the group of pyrethroid ether ( phenolic ethers ), which was patented in 1987 by Mitsui Chemicals
Production and representation
Etofenprox can be obtained by a multistep reaction. First to react for 4 - Ethoxybenzylcyanid and iodomethane. The product further reacts with sulfuric acid and lithium aluminum hydride. The intermediate reacts with 3- Phenoxybenzylbromid to Etofenprox.
Admission
Etofenprox may be authorized in the EU since January 2010 as pesticide active ingredient for uses as insecticide.
In Germany, Austria and Switzerland pesticides are approved with this drug.
