Geographical Location

The community Ettenhausen at the Suhl is located about 17 km southwest of Eisenach on the southwestern edge of the Thuringian Forest.

Neighboring communities and cities

The municipality is bordered to the east and south by the municipalities Moorgrund copper Suhl and Mohra, in the southwest following the Hüttenhof - part of the community Tiefenort, the west and north Marksuhl with the districts Lindigshof and Burkhardtroda.

Early History and First mention
