Eugène Devéria

Eugène Devéria ( born April 22, 1805 in Paris, † February 3, 1865 in Pau) was a French painter and the brother of Achille Devéria.

Life

Eugène Devéria studied under Girodet and first came out in the Paris Salon of 1827 with his painting " The Birth of Henri IV ". He joined the Romantic school and won, after he had become known by several genre and religious pictures, the painting by Henry IV's birth ( in the Louvre) a great triumph, which remained his only. They found it a great talent for composition, his individualized heads, hardworking design and vivid color, and looked Devéria since then as one of the leaders of the Romantics.
