Eugeniusz Czykwin
Eugeniusz Czykwin ( born September 12, 1949 in Orla ) is a Polish politician and journalist, he has been involved in the Orthodox and Belarusian community and was a deputy in the Sejm in the IX. and X. legislature (PRL ) and the I, IV, V and VI. Legislature (Third Republic).
Curriculum vitae
He earned a degree at the Faculty of rail transport at the Technical University of Warsaw. ( Was later known as " Brotherhood of Orthodox Youth" known) in 1980, he became chairman of the Orthodox theologian district schools for theologians, laity and youth, the first mass movement of Orthodox laity in the Eastern Bloc. In the 80 years he was a member of the Landesrats Patriotyczny Ruch Odrodzenia Narodowego ( Patriotic Movement for National Rebirth - PRON ), member of the Woiwodschaftsrates PRON in Białystok and a member of Woiwodschaftsvorstandes the Society for Polish-Soviet friendship in Białystok. Since 1985 he was editor in chief of Przegląd Prawosławny ( Orthodox newspaper ), the first newspaper of this type in postwar Poland. From 1985 to 1991 he was the first representative of the Polish Orthodox community deputy in the IX and X. term of the Sejm of the PRL for the Unia Chrześcijańsko - społeczna.
From 1991 to 1993 he sat in the Sejm for the list of Komitet Wyborczy Prawosławny ( Orthodox Election Committee ). In 1991 he was co-founder of the Law on the relationship between the state and the Polish Orthodox Church. In the parliamentary elections in 1993 and 1997, he organized an election committee of the National Minority in Podlasie, but could never bring their candidates in the Sejm. 2001 and 2005 he was on the list of Sojusz Lewicy Demokratycznej ( Democratic Left Alliance - SLD ) were elected to the Sejm. In the Fourth legislature he worked on the Act on National and Ethnic Minorities and Regional Languages . In the 2007 parliamentary elections, he was with 14,234 votes for the sixth time Member of Parliament for the constituency of Białystok. He is Vice Chairman of the Sejm Commission on National and Ethnic Minorities, as well as a member of the Commission for Environmental Protection.
On 22 April 2008, he joined the Group Lewica.
According to the Instytut Pamięci Narodowej (Institute of National Remembrance - IPN) was Czykwin 1983 by the sluzba Bezpieczeństwa ( Security Service - the secret police of the PRL) has been recruited as informer. Since 1997 Czykwin stated in his Lustrationserklärungen again and again that he was never IM.
