The EC225 Super Puma is a Middle multipurpose and transport helicopter in the 11 ton class with a large range of the German - French group Airbus Helicopters.

History

The EC 225 Super Puma is a member of the " Cougar " family which in turn is a further development of the Aerospatiale AS 532 with a slightly lengthened fuselage and Celebrations of the main rotor. My first flight was on 27 November 2000 with Hervé Jammayrac, Bernard Turcat and Daniel Semiol on board. The first public performance took place on 15 January 2001.

In January 2010, the Indonesian company PT Dirgantara Indonesia ( PTDI ) announced a collaboration with Eurocopter. This will produce PTDI components such as the Heckkausleger and the cabin cell; the first delivery of a helicopter license for the Indonesian market is planned for the year 2011.

As part of the restructuring and renaming of the parent company EADS Group for Airbus was decided in August 2013 to rename the company Eurocopter in January 2014 in Airbus Helicopters.

Range of applications

Applications of the EC 225 are among others in the areas of:

  • Air rescue
  • Search and Rescue
  • Offshore missions ( overseas flights eg to supply oil rigs )
  • Orders in the range of responsibilities of police or comparable security organs
  • VIP transport

Technology

The EC 225 is equipped with a five-blade main rotor and Spheriplex a four-blade tail rotor. The avionics consists among others of an inertial and GPS navigation system, an autopilot, and a glass cockpit with four large and two smaller displays. When driving two Turbomeca - Makila 2A turboshaft engines are fitted with FADEC.
