Europa Tower

The Europa Tower ( Lithuanian Europos Bokstas ) in the Lithuanian capital of Vilnius, with 33 floors and a height of 148 meters, is currently the tallest skyscraper in the Baltic countries. The skyscraper was ( aikštė Europos ), designed by the Vilnius architects Audrius Ambrasas Architects Company from 2002 as part of the office and shopping center Europa Square in Snipiskes, the new business district of Vilnius, built and on 1 May 2004 as part of celebrations account of the accession of Lithuania to the European Union officially opened.

Because of its height, the project was initially controversial - critics complained that the skyscraper could affect the historical silhouette of the old town of Vilnius, especially since the original design, which provided for 30 floors, was extended by three additional floors. Today, adds the building, which was named in 2004 as one of the best new skyscraper for the Emporis Skyscraper Award, in a number of other high-rise buildings, a, form the skyline of the new Vilnius. The observation deck on the 31st floor was until August 2012 Sundays is free open to the public.
