European Athletics Youth Championships

The Youth Athletics European Championships U18 European Athletics Championships / European Athletics Championships Youth (English: European Athletics Youth Championships ) - in the press also shortened to: European U18 Championships or U18 European Championship - were presented at the Congress of the European Association of Athletics Federations (English: European Athletics Congress), 12-13. April 2013 in Skopje (Macedonia), in which all 50 member associations were represented, unanimously called into life. Every two years they are from 2016, held at the beginning of July. Eligible participants aged 17 years or younger (short: U18).

The competition program to which the IAAF World Youth Championships the same, with the possibility to add the eight pole vault battle. The discipline will be eligible to a maximum of two athletes per nation and athlete. It is adjacent to the Athletics Junior Championships ( U20) and U23 European Athletics Championships, the third organized by the EAA European Championship for an age group.

The first Youth Athletics Championships to be held from 14 to July 17, 2016, but the place is not yet clear. Through the years, choosing alternate the competitions with the European Youth Olympic Festival, another two year the place U18 event, which is supported by the European Olympic Committees.
