European Atomic Forum

The European Atomic Forum (English European Atomic Forum ) FORATOM short, is the trade association of the European nuclear industry. The Association operates at EU level atom political lobbying and advertising for the interests of member companies. In addition, the Forum provides general information and public relations for the use of nuclear energy.

The association was founded in 1960, had its headquarters first in Paris, moved him to London in 1975 and finally in 1990 to Brussels. Here FORATOM has its offices in the same building as the European Nuclear Society ( European Nuclear Society ), with the content and a close cooperation exists.

Members

The members of the association come from 18 national federations of European states. Overall, the association represents about 800 companies, mostly operators, suppliers or service providers of nuclear power plants and other nuclear facilities.

Among the largest members include EdF and Areva of France, BNFL and British Energy in the UK, RWE, E.ON and EnBW Germany, Endesa and Enusa from Spain, further Vattenfall, Axpo, Electrabel, Urenco, ČEZ, TVO, Nuclearelectrica, Slovenske elektrárne and many others.
