European Curling Federation

The European Curling Federation (ECF ) represents the European Curling Championships organized sports and at European level. Seat organized in the form of an association under Swiss law association is Bern.

Tasks

  • To represent the Curling sport in Europe and promote. To represent the interests of the European curling.
  • To preserve the cohesion of the member associations.
  • Annually to organize European Championships. Jointly define the venue and the date for the Championships with the host.

History

Jean shield of Geneva had the idea to organize European Curling Championships. In Zurich in November 1974, a six-nation tournament took place. Also present were:

During the tournament, a meeting was convened at which discussed the idea of ​​a European Championship. In March 1975 Jean shield brought his idea for ICF - one, it was decided the European Championships to be established (now WCF). The first eroupäische Championships were held in Megève 1975. Jean shield was the first president of the European Curling Federation.
