European Day of Jewish Culture

The European Day of Jewish Culture is a day of action, which is celebrated annually since 1999. By 2012, the date was on the first Sunday in September, since 2013, will take place on the last Sunday of this month. The day is being organized jointly today in almost 30 European countries by Jewish and non-Jewish organizations. The day provides an opportunity to better meet European Jewry, its history, traditions and customs, past and present. On this day - or the days to the date around - Guided tours will be organized to places of Jewish culture, concerts, exhibitions, lectures and much more to an annually changing theme at local and regional level.

Coordinator is the European Association for the Preservation and Promotion of Jewish Culture and Heritage ( European Association for the preservation and promotion of culture and heritage of Judaism ). Their carriers are the organizations B'nai B'rith Europe, the European Council of Jewish Communities (European Council of Jewish Communities ) and Red de Juderías de España - Caminos de Sefarad ( network of Jewish towns in Spain - Sephardic migration paths ). In each participating country, there are national coordinators.
