European Hot 100 Singles

The European album and singles charts ( European Top 100 Albums / European Hot 100 Singles ) are an unofficial evaluation of some selected European music charts. They are a week from the European Music & Media magazine and determined by the U.S. magazine Billboard. These charts are based on the national album and singles charts of the following 15 European countries: Belgium ( Flanders), Belgium (Wallonia ), Denmark, Germany, France, Finland, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Austria, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and United Kingdom. The individual rankings are weighted based on the size of the different music markets and the euro charts compiled it. About the actual sales of individual songs is the hit parade no information, since in some countries do not have exact sales figures are published.

History

The first European charts began with the so-called Euro parade (short: TROS ) by the Dutch TV station Radio Omroep Stichting en Televisie was launched in 1976. The euro parade but was determined only from the charts of the six European countries, Germany, France, UK, Spain, Belgium and the Netherlands. 1979 were Denmark and Italy to 1980, Switzerland and Austria. In March 1984 Music & Media from Amsterdam founded their own euro chart list called The Euro Chart Hot 100, which was presented in 1986 in the Dutch television. With the increasing popularity charts lists were published from January 1986, in the U.S. magazine Billboard. To date, Billboard publishes the European Top 100 Albums and the European Hot 100 Singles.
