European Parliament Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs

The Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs ( ECON of English: Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee ) is a committee of the European Parliament, chaired by Sharon Bowles ( ELDR), the responsible Commissioner Joaquín Almunia.

Belong to the competence of the Committee, inter alia, the economic and monetary policy, free payments, tax and competition issues, maintenance of relationships with relevant organizations and institutions as well as the regulation and supervision of financial institutions and markets.
