European Renewable Energy Council

The European Renewable Energy Council ( EREC ) (Eng. European Association for Renewable Energies ) is the European trade association of manufacturers active in the renewable energy sector, traders and researchers. In EREC together eight European associations of photovoltaics, solar thermal, wind energy, small hydropower, bio-energy and geothermal energy. Seat of EREC is Brussels.

Known to a wider public was the association in January 2007 with the publication of the study Energy [R ] evolution (in cooperation with Greenpeace), which shows how with renewable energy, global emissions of the greenhouse gas CO2 by mid-21st century by 50 percent can be reduced.
