The European route E 10 or 10 is a European route that begins in Å in Norway and ends in Luleå in Sweden.
It is 880 km long, of which 397 km lead by Norway and 483 km through Sweden.
Course

In the Norwegian sector of the E 10 leads over ten bridges and through tunnels twelve. The longest bridges are the Tjeldsundet bru ( German Tjeldsundbrücke, 1007 m above the Tjeldsundet ) and the Raftsundbrua (711 m). The longest tunnel are the Sørdalstunnelen ( 6338 m) and the Sløverfjordtunnelen ( 3337 m)
The E 10 runs in short sections, together with three other European routes:
- With the E 6 of Bjergvik to Trældal ( Nygård ) near Narvik (18 miles)
- With the E 45 north of Gällivare (66 miles)
- With the E 4 of Tore to Luleå (46 miles)
On 1 December 2007, the Lofast, a new section between Fiskebøl on Austvågøy and Gullesfjord was opened on Hinnøya. This 51 km long and shortens the E 10 by 30 kilometers. Thus, the ferry crossing between Melbu Fiskebøl is no longer necessary to achieve the Lofoten Islands from the north.
History
The section of line Kiruna -Narvik was only built in the early 1980 years and runs largely parallel to the Swedish part of 1903 went into operation Erzbahn. Today's E 10 carries this name only since 1992. Previously called the Norwegian section Å Bjerkvik ( Bjerkvik is located north of Narvik on the E 6 ) " vei 19" and the Swedish Part Riksgraensen - Tore " riksväg 98 ".
E 10 was the designation for the Paris- Brussels -Amsterdam- Groningen before 1985.
