European Rowing Championships
Rowing European Championships are taking place from International Rowing Federation FISA competitions for European national teams to determine the European Champion in rowing. The first European Championships were held in 1893. Since then, this competition took place with smaller interruptions due to the world wars first place annually, since 1954 also for women. As a 1962 World Rowing Championships were introduced, found in the World Cup and Olympic years European Championships for Women. Since 1974 the World Championships were held annually and also for women, so no more European Championships were held.
After more than thirty -year break, the European Championships were reintroduced in 2007 and have since been held annually in the Olympic boat classes. Since 2011 there are also Junior European Championships, the first edition in Kruszwica, Poland took place.
