European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology

The European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology ( ESHRE ) is a multidisciplinary European trade company, the Human Reproduction and Embryology dedicated.

The Company was incorporated on September 2, 1985 by Robert Edwards ( University of Cambridge ) and Jean Cohen ( Paris, France) in London. The decision establishing was already on the III. Focus World Congress of IVF and embryo transfer in 1984 in Helsinki. The headquarters of the company is since 2004 in Grimbergen (Belgium ). The Company currently has over 5,000 members in 110 countries worldwide.

Your current chairman is Anna Veiga (Spain). Constituent body is the Annual General Meeting, which elects an Advisory and Executive Committee, who in turn appoints an international committee for the scientific preparation of the annual meeting.

Special interest groups dealing respectively with partial areas of reproductive medicine, such as the reproduction endocrinology, ethics, andrology, psychology, endometriosis, early pregnancy, Reproductive Surgery, safety and quality in artificial fertilization, embryology, Reproductive Genetics and stem cells.

From the ESHRE annual conferences (Annual Meeting), courses, seminars and workshops will be organized. The first annual meeting was held in 1985 in Bonn. Since then, two scientists is an honorary membership, the Company issues the magazines " Human Reproduction ", " Human Reproduction Update" and "Molecular Human Reproduction " out annually.
