European Technology Exposure Facility

The European Technology Exposure Facility ( EuTEF ) is an experiment support which has been fixed on 15 February 2008 on the outside of the Columbus space laboratory, the science laboratory of the ESA for the International Space Station.

EuTEF is a platform to support up to seven experiments. Both the short and long term is intended to be tested for biological samples, the influence of solar ultraviolet radiation.

The platform was designed in the years 1997 to 1999 by the Italian aerospace company Carlo Gavazzi Space (CGS ) and built.

In early September 2009, the platform was removed during the Discovery mission STS- 128, and transported back to Earth.
