European Thesaurus on International Relations and Area Studies

The European Thesaurus on International Relations and Area Studies (short: European Thesaurus ) is a thesaurus for the field of International Relations and Area Studies. It is the result of an international terminological cooperation project under the European Information Network on International Relations and Area Studies ( EINIRAS ). With the help of the European thesaurus publications and other textual materials (for example, official documents of governments and international organizations, treaties texts, press articles ) on international and regional research topics in a literature database can be content to describe ( indexing) and retrieve ( retrieval ). The European Thesaurus contains about 8,250 descriptors, spread across 24 subject areas. The European Thesaurus is a multilingual thesaurus, and includes the languages ​​German, English, French, Italian, Croatian, Polish, Russian, Spanish and Czech. In addition to the descriptors available for each language version in addition a variety of non - descriptors as access vocabulary available.

Versions

The European Thesaurus was published in September 2007 in a seven -language print edition, which consists of a multilingual proper systematic part and seven monolingual alphabetical parts. About the specialist portal IREON (International Relations and Area Studies Online ) is the European Thesaurus on the internet public. In addition, the online version includes the languages ​​Croatian and Russian and shows the entire semantic relationships of a descriptor ( top, bottom and related terms ).
