European Tournament for Dancing Students

European Tournament for Dancing Students ( briefly also called ETDS ) is the largest European dance tournament for students. It is aligned since 1989 twice a year in changing university towns.

The three-day event usually takes place on the weekend of Pentecost and in the fall. The participants are mainly students and come from all over Europe, with the Netherlands and Germany the biggest shares.

The focus is on two popular sports tournaments, in which about 200 European couples who earn no (or only in low Tournament classes) regular competitions begin. The tournaments are divided according to the World Dance Program in Standard and Latin dances. In addition, there are two tournaments that also divided into Standard and Latin dances, which are competed for about 50 dancers with more competition experience. The dance partners will be drawn here. All tournaments will take place on Saturdays and Sundays during the day.

The framework program consists of three evening events, with a gala ball forms the conclusion.

At the end of each event, a trophy will be awarded among the participating universities, the so-called migrant mouse.
