Eurorunner

The type of locomotive Siemens ER20 Euro Runner series is one of Rail Systems (formerly Siemens Mobility, formerly Siemens Transportation Systems ) built, four-axle diesel-electric locomotive of the middle class.

The model was initially built on behalf of the Austrian Federal Railways and designated there as 2016 or Hercules. A 2000 kW diesel engine with flange-mounted three-phase asynchronous generator generates the current supplied to the four motors ( one for each axis) are driven. Technical Features

The locomotive has a turbocharged 16-cylinder diesel engine in the 4000 series of MTU Friedrichshafen with common- rail fuel injection and intercooling. At idle, the exhaust emissions of eight cylinders 16 are turned off to improve.

With increased power requirement when starting off or on short slope portions can be turned off (for the power supply of the car) the train line.
