The Euro Vision Song Contest 1968 was the 13th since the beginning of this music competition of the Euro Vision countries. He was held on April 6, 1968 held at the Royal Albert Hall in London since last year's winner Sandie Shaw had come from the United Kingdom. The winner was the Spaniard Massiel with her song La, la, la. The event, which was first broadcast in color, moderated Katie Boyle.

Massiel was the first Euro vision winner, who presented her song at the victory recapitulation in a bilingual version, in Spanish and English. The English version of " La, la, la " is entitled " He gives me love" and was also as a vinyl single (and now also on CD) published.

Curiosities

Originally, the eventual winner song should be sung by the Catalans Joan Manuel Serrat. However, since he insisted on singing in Catalan, the language, however, was prohibited at this time, nor of the Spanish dictator Franco, took over the already popular in Spain and Latin America Massiel the Part in a television documentary also claims that Franco jury votes could buy to allow the victory of Spain.

Another oddity is that the title should be disqualified because of a plagiarism allegation: Both the melody as well as parts of the text were then removed from the song Death of a Clown by Ray Davies and Dave Davies. The whole thing was then still in the sand.

Some actors in a comedy series the BBC disguised themselves and claimed to be the delegation of Albania. You have been granted probation actually. The dizziness flew only when she sang on stage a jazz version of the British contribution Congratulations.
