Eusko Abendaren Ereserkia
Eusko Abendaren Ereserkia is the anthem of the Spanish Basque Country.
It comes from a popular flag salute without text whose origin is not known. The founder of Basque nationalism, Sabino de Arana Goiri, wrote a text to it. This combination was as Gora ta Gora the anthem of the Basque Nationalist Party PNV.
The Law N º 8/1983 of 14 April 1983, the Basque regional parliament of the three Basque provinces located in the Spanish state declared the song Eusko Abendaren Ereserkia the national anthem. From this point on, the national anthem was used together with the Ikurriña ( Basque flag ) to the most representative symbols of the Basque people.
