Eustáquio van Lieshout

Eustáquio van Lieshout SSCC (real name: Hubert van Lieshout ) ( born November 3, 1890 in Aarle- Rixtel, Netherlands, † August 30, 1943 in Belo Horizonte, Brazil ) was a Dutch religious priests, who worked a long time in Brazil, and there also became famous for. He was beatified in 2006 by the Catholic Church.

Life

Hubert van Lieshout joined the Order of Arnstein Fathers, took the monastic name of Eustachius, and was ordained a priest in 1919. Initially he worked in Belgium until he was sent in 1925 to the mission to Brazil. As a pastor in various places he could convert many people. He cured many of diseases, which soon crowds attended his Masses. His superiors were suspicious and sent him in 1942 as pastor to Belo Horizonte, where he died on 30 August 1943.

Eustaquio van Lieshout was on 15 June 2006 in Minas Gerais, Brazil, beatified. His feast day in the liturgy is August 30.
