Eva Ras

Eva Ras (Eva Marija Balaš - Stević ) ( born January 1, 1941 in Subotica, Yugoslavia ) is a Serbian actress of Hungarian origin.

After studying at the Fakultet umetnosti dramskih in Belgrade, she started acting. Her first role was in the film Der Schut of Karl May with Lex Barker as Kara Ben Nemsi. With her husband she founded Radomir Stević Ras in 1964, the theater Teatar nacionalne drame. In the internationally known socially critical film Ljubavni slučaj ili tragedija PTT službenice (1967, directed by Dušan Makavejev ) she played the lead role. They also wrote plays, books and poems.

She was praised by critics as a talented actress and received in Hungary the Golden Butterfly Award as well as the 2005 Aleksandar Lifka Prize for her life's work. The Yugoslav National Film Theatre awarded her the great seal. For their books and poems she received multiple national awards in Yugoslavia and Serbia.
