Evaň

Evan ( German Eywan ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is 17 kilometers northeast of Louny and belongs to Okres Litoměřice.

Geography

The village is located on the right side of the Egertales on the edge of the Bohemian panel on a steep south-facing slope along the creek Evaňský. By Evan leads the state road 237 between Peruc and Libochovice.

Neighboring towns are Dubany in the north, and Radlovka Poplze in the northeast, Brníkov in the east, in the southeast Podbradec, Ječovice, Bohdal and Černochov in the south, and Chrastín Stradonice the southwest, Horka in the west and Křesín in the northwest.

History

First records of the town was in 1437 as a royal possession. Václav Hájek z Libočan mentioned in his Bohemian Chronicle 1541 Ivánky a place in connection with a campaign of the legendary Prague Premyslid Hostivít against Sukoslav Bílina, is said to have taken place in the year 881.

Until the 16th century, Evan was successively pledged to various noble families. 1528 was the pledge to Jan Sezimovi z Ústí and in 1575 bought his descendants the villages Evan and Brníkov of Maximilian II inherited goods. Acquired in 1597 by Karl Elsnitz the rule and established a stronghold. Bernard of Elsnitz was involved in the uprising of 1618 and sold the goods sold in 1619 to Johanna of Herten mountain from which it inherited her widower Wenzel von Sternberg. His property was confiscated in 1627 and sold to Maria Maximiliana von Sternberg on Libochowitz. This was also the connection anher to the rule Libochwitz and the festivals Evan was desolate. 1676 sold Vojtěch Wenzel von Sternberg ownership of Gundakar Ditrichstein, the settlers from his Moravian possessions in Mikulov recruited to repopulate the desolate lying since the Thirty Years' War homesteads of the village again. The corridors of the deserted village Lhoty were Evan slammed. Until the replacement of Patriminialherrschaften in 1848 remained the Dietrichsteiner Lords of Eywan.

1980 Evan was incorporated into Libochovice, since 1989, the municipality is independent again.
