Evergestis dilutalis

Evergestis dilutalis is a butterfly of the family of Crambiden ( Crambidae ).

Features

The moths reach a wingspan of about 30 millimeters. Head and body are pale ocher. The forewings have a whitish ground color. The Costa loaders, the root field and the transverse lines are pale ocher. There is a fairly wide, oblique band which extends into the apical region between the wavy toothed, whitish post - median and the Subterminallinie. Inside the cell, there are two indistinct, pale spots. The fringe scales are white. The hind wings are dirty white and shine. They are marked with a uniformly curved, darker Postmedia line. In Saumfeld is a narrow dark line that borders the white fringed scales. The forewing underside is dark. The drawing and the dark Diskalfleck are very indistinct. The hind wing underside is dirty white. The fringe scales of the wings are white, with the fore wings are marked dark at the apex.

The genital armature of the males has not been described.

In females, the corpus bursae is almost spherical and deposed from the base of the ductus bursae. The Signum is egg-shaped and nearly as long as the corpus bursae. The ductus bursae is wound and widens before Colliculum. The antrum is very narrow funnel-shaped and wrinkled.

Similar Species

From the appearance of her resembles E. dilutalis Evergestis sophialis and Evergestis frumentalis, the first -named species, however, is clearly colored pale.

Dissemination

Evergestis dilutalis is common in Romania and Ukraine ( Crimea).

Biology

The preimaginal stages ( egg, caterpillar, pupa ) are unknown. The moths fly from late June to July.
