Exhibition Centre for the Archaeology of the Emsland

The exhibition center for archeology of the Emsland is an archaeological museum in Meppen in Lower Saxony, Germany. It displays the cultural history of the Emsland region from the Stone Age to the Middle Ages. The museum is housed since 1996 in a modern new building within a classical building complex at the Koppelschleuse.

The permanent exhibition illustrates the Prehistory and Early History of the Emsland with finds, models and drawings. Shown are the key findings of the Neolithic house-building, Bronze Age and Iron Age material culture and burial customs to human settlements of the Roman Empire. Educational offers for children and school classes and special exhibitions complement the exhibition.
